About CyberSmart Events

CyberSmart! Online Workshops provide facilitated professional development for educators, focusing on 21st-century skills—the new basic skills needed to meet the learning needs of today’s students.

1. Workshop Topics:
  Safety and Security Online: Educators learn about online safety practices, cybersecurity, and protecting students in the digital environment.
Manners, Bullying, and Ethics: Addressing digital etiquette, cyberbullying prevention, and ethical behavior online.
Authentic Learning and Creativity:

Exploring ways to integrate technology authentically into the curriculum and promote creativity.
  Research and Information Fluency:

Enhancing students’ ability to find, evaluate, and use information effectively.

 Twenty-First Century Challenges:

 Understanding the challenges posed by technology and preparing students to navigate them.
 

2. Flexible Format:
No scheduled meeting times.
Bite-sized tasks encourage collaboration within a research-based professional learning community.
Participants engage anytime and anywhere over a one-month period.

 

 

 3. Collaborative Learning:
Rich multimedia learning experience.
Guided learning videos, engaging discussions, and use of Web 2.0 tools.
Participants interact within an extended “online community of learners.”
